After I install KES on a K2 (v6) server or upgrade to K2 (v6) VSA software with KES installed on the previous pre-K2 system (i.e. v5.1), there is no Security tab on the function list even though it shows as installed in License Manager. What should I do?

After I install KES on a K2 (v6) server or upgrade to K2 (v6) VSA software with KES installed on the previous pre-K2 system (i.e. v5.1), there is no Security tab on the function list even though it shows as installed in License Manager. What should I do?

ANSWER

This is a known issue where KES is installed after the K2 VSA install and does not get the latest hotfixes and/or vice versa.

This issue has been resolved in a newer KES 2.1 installer. Download this installer and run it on the VSA app machine from the following URL:

http://download.kaseya.com/components/kes/KES.exe 

Note: This can take some time to complete, so schedule an appropriate time to do this.

-or-

Reload all VSA hotfixes by visiting the System > Server Management > Configure page choosing the 'Reload' button therein.
