If the upgrade from Kaspersky 6 to Kaspersky 10 fails due to Kaspersky installer not running then its possible that there are some registry keys that were not removed from the endpoint after Kaspersky 6 was uninstalled.
The symptoms to confirm if this is the case are as follows.
When attempting to upgrade to Kaspersky 10 or installing Kaspersky 10 on an endpoint that had Kaspersky 6 previously installed, the installation fails.
If this is the case we recommend to confirm that Kaspersky 6 has been completely uninstalled.
Then confirm if the following registry keys have been deleted:
Then attempt to install Kaspersky 10 one more time.
We have created an agent procedure to remove these keys.
The procedure should only be ran after Kaspersky 6 has been uninstalled and before Kaspersky 10 is installed.
It is recommended to only run this procedure on endpoints that the KAV upgrade failed.
