Remote Control - FTP fails when accessing a Linux machine

Question

FTP may fail to work with a Linux machine if vsftpd is not configured correctly on the agent machine.

Answer

The following parameters are required to be set for vsftpd config file located at /etc/vsftpd.conf:

listen=YES
local_enable=YES
local_umask=022
write_enabled=YES

Once these parameters are set, restart the vsftpd daemon in the /etc/init.d directory:

#cd /etc/init.d
# ./vsftpd restart

You should be able to FTP the Linux machine after the restart.
