Why am I unable to create an SMB User? Why are SMB users not receiving their welcome emails?

Problem Statement: Why am I unable to create an SMB user?

Solution: It could be for one of the following reasons. If your User limit is zero, you cannot allow any user to log into the BullPhish ID portal. To resolve this error, increase the user limit to >= 1.

Important. Only internal users (partner admins and partner agents) can view user license details and change user limits for child SMB organizations. Additionally, a support representative can see how many licenses an MSP has, and then, based on available licenses, they can allocate N licenses to each SMB account.
  • As an internal user, you can view license details on the Edit Partner/MME/SMB page and assign user licenses to the SMB org at the MSP level. From Actions > Edit SMB, you can assign or update user licenses (also called limits) by defining how many SMB users can log into the BullPhish ID Portal.
  • To view SMB user limit statistics on the Dark web ID portal, log into the Dark Web ID dashboard and go to the Organizations dashboard > SMB User Seats column. (To learn more, refer below section from the article: Steps to update user limit on Dark Web ID.)

Steps to add a new SMB user - Add User

1. Click + Add User

2. Fill in the required details: First Name, Last Name, Email of the User

Permissions – From Account Type, you can select either Standard User or Privileged User

Standard User – Except for downloading reports, the SMB Standard user(s) have read-only access to each functionality of the BullPhish ID portal.  These users can view campaign details, a list of available kits/ courses, etc.

Privileged User – SMB Privileged user(s) can create and manage content for their SMB organization. They can generate phishing/training campaigns, send profiles, targets, and groups for the SMB organization, see reports, create report automation, etc.

  • You can enable Access to Phishing Simulation and Training Portal using the toggle action button.
  • Click the Save button if you want to save only, or click the Save and Send Welcome Email to save and send a welcome message to the user.
  • Why aren’t my users receiving a Welcome email?
    • If you click Save and Send Welcome Email while adding an SMB user, the user would typically receive a welcome email. If SMB users do not receive Welcome emails, it might be one of the following reasons:
      • The user email address you have provided is not correctly defined in the Email field. Ensure that the Save and Send Welcome Email button is clicked, or a welcome email will not be generated in any form.
      • They have reached their SMB user limit. For example: if you have one smb user limit with already one user created and want to create a second user and try to save or send a welcome email, the Add User modal remains unclosed.
